What is Personal Training?

Simply put, it is training on your own with myself. Where it is just you, or you and your friend or partner, that is up to you. Each session is planned around your needs and goals, but I still make it fun and very varied. You'll be given your own training diary, set goals that are followed through every week, workouts and nutrition advice. There are 2 personal training options available, with full details below.

You come for your session, and I'll set you home work, goals, key focus points and nutrition strategies. I'll then help motivate you along the way, with regular challenges, recipes and workouts. Sessions are available from fortnightly, to more regularly, at £50 per session or £45 if you are already a client


For those who just want a little input and motivation. You have a session every month, where we will set exercises and homework, but then every week I shall set you new challenges, workouts and nutrition changes to help keep you motivated for the month. This option is £65 a month

I attend Carys's Friday morning strength class and I have to say to say that I am incredibly impressed by her knowledge and expertise. After just a few months I have felt the difference in my body and stability: I am hypermobile and she takes that into account with the exercises she gives - she ensures that everyone in the class is treated individually. She never lets anyone progress until she is happy that their technique is correct, every session is different and she comes up with unique exercises that I've never come across before. Her classes are fun and she has a sense of humour. I look forward to the sessions and I know that I will feel the benefit afterwards, I am certain that her classes are one of the reasons my racing times are improving. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone and everyone!

I know of no other class where one undertakes bespoke exercises amongst a small group of friends whilst (in-between the exercises) discussing the latest gossip. Each class is different and each exercise has optional levels so you can choose how much you want to push yourself. Carys' style is positive and realistic, encouraging us all to do that bit extra and ensuring that our postures are good.  We all start the session by discussing how much we ached after the last session. Would we have it any other way? No - we all love it.
Carys has worked with the WCS athletes in Cambridge for the last three years, combining her expert knowledge with patience and a sense of humour to get the most out of this particularly talented yet raw group of teenagers. She has been invaluable in preventing injury, developing structural balance, encouraging mental focus and teaching the athletes professional behaviours. She has played a significant role in their success on the water.
